I recently read Rise and Grind written by one of Shark Tank's Star, Daymond John. I have seen Shark Tank a few times, and I have always liked Daymond John on Shark Tank. I haven't read his other books, but I have heard about them. Rise and Grind was a very easy and quick read. Daymond John's writing is very simple, direct, and engaging. The book consists of 15 stories ranging from CEOs and entrepreneurs, actresses, televangelist, Shark Tank contestant, TV producer and how they all "grinded" their way day in and day out till they got to the top. I like how all the stories are from people from all walks of life. Many times you read about someone's success stories, but as an outsider, you don't realize the sacrifices they made in order to be so successful. I always thought Jessica Alba was the brain child behind the Honest Company. If it wasn't for this book, I would never have learned that it was actually entrepreneur Brian Kim's idea for the Honest Company. He just always uses celebrity names and profiles to get the public's attention of his company. I highly recommend this book to anyone who is interested in motivational books or reading the stories behind successful entrepreneurs.
